Llangynfelyn - Bartholomew's Map, 2 miles to the inch, 1919

Ymddangoswyd mapiau cyntaf yng nghyfres Bartholomew hanner-modfedd o Loegr a Chymru yn 1897, ar gyfer "Tourists and Cyclists", seiliedig ar data yr O.S. Daw'r rhanfap yma o rhif 16 (Aberystwyth), cyhoeddwyd yn 1919 am 3s. 6c. Dyma'r fersiwn 'dyranedig', sef copi wedi'i dorri i fyny a rhoi ar lliain, felly'r rheswm am y bylchau. Mae gennym yma enghraifft (300 dpi) o'r plwyf, ac echdyniad ychwanegol (150 dpi) o ardal fwy, o Fachynlleth i lawr i Lanrhystud ac i Bumlumon yn y dwyrain. (387KB)

The Bartholomew's series of half-inch maps for "Tourists and Cyclists" started to appear for England and Wales in 1897, based on O.S. information. The example here is from sheet 16 (Aberystwyth) published in 1919, price 3s. 6d. This is the 'dissected' edition, cut into sections and mounted on linen, hence the gaps. We have here an extract (at 300 dpi) of the parish, plus another extract (at 150 dpi) of a larger area, from Machynlleth down to Llanrhystud and inland to Pumlimon. (387KB)
